Speech at the United Nations

I have promised to blog about this once I would have time, and indeed the days in New York were so busy that I could not write this earlier. Even for the President of the European Commission it is not every day that you hold a speech at the United Nations. But this is what I did yesterday in New York, presenting the EU's commitments towards more nuclear energy safety. The accident in Fukushima proved that only through an international and transborder approach this question can be tackled. This is again a good example where the EU can be a leader, in policy and in action, to guide global action towards a safer future for all citizens.
